Kristina Spitzner is a Botanical Artist and Natural Science Illustrator from Southwest Michigan who loves to share her passion for watercolor painting, as well as her fascination with the intricate details, colors, textures, and beauty of nature, which inspires her work.
With a background in advertising and graphic design, she began painting with watercolor in 2000, and later returned to school to complete an extensive study in Traditional Botanical Illustration with the Society of Botanical Artists-UK (SBA-DLDC-8). Kristina now devotes most of her artwork to botanical watercolor studies for publication, graphic, textile and surface design, local and national gallery exhibits, fine art fairs and artist markets, commissions for private collections, and also teaching these art techniques to others through local venues.
Kristina is an member of the American Society of Botanical Artists and the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators, as well as several local arts councils and associations near her hometown.
